What is the building capacity?
The Vineyard holds 200 guests for seated dinners and 250 guests for cocktail events.
We'd like to view the venue again, do we need to schedule an appointment?
Yes, please contact us, even if you are only wanting to look around outside, so we can properly schedule you around other events and showings.
Is there a food and beverage, or guest count minimum?
No. We don't have any minimums as we want you to create your perfect day with out restrictions or requirements.
Will there be another wedding the same day?
At The Vineyard we offer our couples exclusive access to ensure that each couple's event is special and receives our full attention. It is possible that a rehearsal or tour may occur before noon on your wedding day.
Are there overnight accommodations nearby?
Yes. There are many hotels in West Des Moines & Airbnbs in the surround area. We are happy to provide a list upon request.
How many cars will your parking lot accommodate?
100 cars
Do you offer straight tables instead of round?
We have a limited number of straight tables onsite that can be used for your gift table, head table, etc. Usually we have a few extras that can be mixed in with reception seating, but the majority of your guests will be seated at round tables.
Do you provided table linens and dinnerware?
Linens are provided as part of your rental package. We do not provide dinnerware, so please ensure your selected caterer is providing the necessary dinner items.
What happens in case of rain?
Fortunately, The Vineyard has a beautiful indoor space for ceremonies in front of our stone fireplace. We can make weather decisions just 60 minutes before the ceremony if needed.
Do you allow dogs onsite to play a part in our wedding day?
We are dog friendly. Dogs are allowed at the ceremony and pictures (with prior approval). Animals, other than service animals, are NOT allowed under roof or near food. Dogs must be on a leash and someone must be responsible for them other than the bride and groom. Dogs must leave after photos and before dinner.
What time will I have access to the venue to decorate?
You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your contract, not earlier. Please plan accordingly!
Catering Questions
What are our catering options at The Vineyard?
We have an open catering policy at The Vineyard, but do require all caterers to be insured and provide wait staff to serve and clear the meal. Additionally, we have a wonderful prep kitchen caterers can access during your event.
Planning Questions
What time do you suggest we start the ceremony?
We suggest starting most ceremonies between 4-5pm.
What size sign do you recommend for behind the bar or above the fireplace?
The fireplace is 8' wide and we recommend your sign is no smaller than 48" wide.
How will the tables, chairs, etc. be arranged for my sized event?
Please email us with your guest count and we will help you determine layout.
If we choose the one day option, will we be able to access the location early to rehearse our ceremony?
Yes, a one hour rental is included in your rental package and will be scheduled around other events, no more than 60 days prior to your wedding.
Can we have fireworks on the property?
Fireworks and sparklers are not allowed at The Vineyard.
Can vehicles be left overnight?
Vehicles must be removed by 10am the following day. Please advise your guests of this policy.
Are candles allowed?
Yes, candles are allowed as long as the flame is completely contained in a candle holder. Tapered candles and any type of hanging candles will not be allowed for safety reasons.
Is it possible to seat 9 to a table?
Yes, it is possible to seat 9 to a table.
Setup and Day-of Event Questions
Are outside snacks and trays permitted?
Yes, you can bring in outside food. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased through The Vineyard prior to your event. All beverages, alcoholic & non-alcoholic, must be purchased through The Vineyard during your event.
What is the event clean-up process?
Our staff will handle all standard clean up and trash removal following the wedding reception. You are responsible for removing all of your personal items and decorations and placing all unneeded items in trash receptacles.
Can we take photos around The Vineyard on our wedding day?
Absolutely. We will provide a list of suggested locations before the event.
